BETRAYAL

businessman-2

Insomnia, anxiety and mental exhaustion.

It’s been forever since I saw you or  heard your voice.

But I still see your face.

And the sound of your laughter still haunts me.

You said it was always going to be just you and i.

But you lied.

I should despise you but I can’t seem to stop loving you.

Everyone warned me to stay away from you.

But you were like a magnet that kept pulling me close.

Your eyes are enchanting and you could make me do your bidding any day.

I didn’t mind because pleasing you made me happier.

You had an aura  that could get any man enthralled.

I have fallen so deep and I can get up.

You could have picked a movie star, a billionaire in some part of the world or anyone one else

But you didn’t.

It had to be my best friend.

I was right there but I didn’t see anything.

You betrayed me and crushed my heart but I still yearn for you.

They say there is a thin line between love and hate but I can’t seem to cross the line.

The thought of you in his arms infuriates me.

What am i supposed to do with all these feelings?

I can’t function without you.

I hate you and I love you.

Please tell me when you will be coming back home.

THE NIGHTMARE 1

200382017-001

She was sitting in a bar alone gradually sipping a glass of red wine while enjoying the light music that was playing in the background.

She was supposed to meet with her friend but she called to say she had to work.

She noticed a group of men harassing a young man at a corner.

Although she wondered what was happening, she didn’t do or say anything.

Shortly after, a man walked up to them and after a few minutes of dialog, everyone dispersed.

He was tall with very broad shoulders. He had short black hair, wore a straight blue jean and a grey fitted T shirt  that showed off his perfect physique.

He was the sexiest man she had ever seen and his swirling aura of command only amplified his physical appeal.

She starred at him for a while and took her face away.

Barely 10minutes after the incident,

He walked up to her and introduced himself as Rohelleo.

His deep masculine voice sent waves down her body.

She was overwhelmed he even noticed her out of the crowd.

Deep down she knew it was time to go.

But something kept her glued to the seat.

He sat down and ordered a drink.

They talked for over an hour.

That was the best conversation she ever had.

He was funny, sensitive and seemed to know exactly what to say at the right time.

When it was late, he walked her to her car and told her he would like to see her again.

So she gave him her number.

They went out on several dates.

She had a great time each time and looked forward to seeing him again.

She  told him she wanted to take it slow because she just got out of a relationship.

He told her he enjoyed spending time with her and he was willing to wait till she’s ready.
One evening she was enjoying a plate of sea food with Rohelleo.

They were in a private corner of the restaurant of one of the most exquisite hotels in the city.

The lights were dim lights and he sat next to her on a couch by the table.

Light music was playing as they talked about different things.

He held her hand and told her how much he had enjoyed spending time with her over the last few weeks.

He then slid closer to her causing his legs to touch hers.

She felt a degree of warmth.

The smell of his perfume was intoxicating and gave her a sensation of physical craving.

He cupped her face with his big hands and stared into her big brown eyes.

He then kissed her softly at first and then with swift gradation of intensity that made her cling to him.

His insistent lips sending wild tremors along her nerves, evoking a sensation in her she had never known she was capable of feeling.

She managed to pull herself back and told him she was not ready.

He apologized for his actions and told her how weak he becomes whenever he was around her.

He told her he had to go and how hard it was for him to hold back.

He settle the bill and then tore a sheet of paper from a jotter and scribbled a number on it.

“That’s my room number, I really hope you swing by tonight.” he said.

She stared at the piece of paper for a very long time.

She thought of Rohelloe  and she thought of what she wanted.

Her mind and body were at conflict.

Her mind told her to go home but her body won’t let her.

About 20minutes after Rohelloe had left, there she was knocking at his door.

He opened the door within seconds.

He was shirtless and wore a pair of shorts.

The curves and angles on his chest made him look even more attractive than he was.

Without saying a word, he held her with one while shutting the door with the other.

He pulled her closely and kissed her passionately.

He turned her around and helped her unzip her dress while he kissed her neck.

This time, she dint push him away.

She wanted him as much as he wanted her.

The fierce feeling she was having was a feeling she had never felt before.

He made love to her all night.

Best night of he life.

She kept seeing Rohelloe for months,

They made love all the time even in the strangest of places.

Each session being more explosive than the former.

She couldn’t comprehend what she was feeling.

The fire was burning inside her and her thirst for him could not be quenched.

Each time they met, she told herself it was the last time.

But she always came back running.

She wanted him more and more.

She just couldn’t get enough.

One day, while they sat under a tree in a park enjoying the cool breeze that was blowing,

He told her he had some business he had to take care of that will keep him out of town for a month.

Her face changed as she dropped her head down.

She knew she was going to miss him so much.

Noticing her reaction,

He raised her chin, looked at her and told her he will be back before she knows it.

The conviction in his voice made her feel better.

A week later, he was out of town.

They talked all the time when he left.

But as time went on, he began to call less.

She complained about it but he assured her that it was only because he was busy.

Eventually, the calls stopped coming in entirely.

She waits all day by the phone but his call never comes through.

She was also unable to reach him and she was going crazy.

At first she was mad but later, she became worried.

She couldn’t help but wonder where he was or how he was doing

She missed him dearly and yearned to see him, hear his voice and feel his touch

She watched and counted as minutes turned to hours, hours to days and days to weeks.

She consoled herself that the feeling will eventually fade away but they became stronger with each passing day.

She couldn’t sleep, she couldn’t focus at work.

She was completely miserable.

The hope of seeing him or hearing is voice was fading .

But she had no choice but to hold on to every shred of hope she could find.

MMM AND THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY

images3

For the past few months the internet has been swamped with chatters of MMM and other mirror Ponzi schemes  like Icharity, Ultimate Cycler, Zarfund and many more. People are investing and encouraging their friends and families to invest even though the Federal government has strongly advised the public to shun these platforms.

Nigeria is currently undergoing recession. Prices of goods and services have become outrageous and the rate of unemployment has increased drastically. People can no longer afford the basic needs for human sustenance. Therefore many Nigerians see these platforms as a blessing and an answer to their prayers.

So now, the million dollar question is,

‘Is MMM a blessing or curse to Nigeria?’

MMM has helped a lot of Nigerians to cope during this period by enabling them earn a lot more than they could have earned while working. People are now able to buy what they need and pay for services they require.

One the other hand, mmm also encourages laziness. One earns money by just sitting around and doing nothing. The profits gotten from these investments are then reinvested in the scheme instead of in the country’s economy. This will result in a setback for the country because there will be no activities that could help boost the economy or provide adequate goods in circulation. This implies that the more people join, the longer time it will take for the country’s economy to grow.  This will eventually increase the inflation rate of goods and services because there is more money available than goods and services.

Another way to view this issue is, given the fact that there are more people than available jobs in the country, people are often exploited because of the rate of unemployment. But with this scheme, there will be more money in circulation and people can become self reliant and also invest in other ventures that will help in creating more job opportunities. Therefore if the jobs available become proportional to the workers available, Workers would therefore be given fair remuneration for their services hereby bridging the enormous gap between the rich and poor in Nigeria. But that is only if Nigerians invest. Because in a bid to satisfy wants, Nigerians are likely to save less and spend more since they have strong expectations of more returns and they don’t bother to invest neither are they willing to work.

I think MMM can be a blessing or a curse to the nation depending on how Nigerians twist it.  Everyone involved in this scheme should not get carried away and have it in mind that there is no guarantee and everything can crash in a blink of an eye and if by then, no investments have been put in place, Nigerians will be in a worse place than they are now.

These are my views on the issue. Please err your views on the subject.

  • A priest offered a nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said, ‘Father, remember Psalm 129?’

The priest removed his hand. But changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, ‘Father, remember Psalm 129?’

The priest apologized ‘sorry sister but the flesh is weak.’

After arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up psalm 129. It said, ‘Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.’

Moral lesson;

  • A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.

While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.

Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Moral lesson;

Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.

And when you’re in deep shit, it’s best to keep your mouth shut!

  • An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, ‘Can I also sit like you and do nothing?’ The eagle answered: ‘Sure, why not.’

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral lesson;

To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

  • A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.

They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, ‘I’ll give each of you just one wish.’ ‘Me first! Me first!’ says the admin clerk. ‘I want to be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.’ Puff! She’s gone.

Me next! Me next!’ says the sales rep. ‘I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.’

Puff! He’s gone.

‘OK, you’re up,’ the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, ‘I want those two back in the office after lunch.’

Moral lesson;

Always let your boss have the first say.

  • A turkey was chatting with a bull.

‘I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree’ sighed the turkey, ‘but I haven’t got the energy.’ ‘Well, why don’t you nibble on some of my droppings?’ replied the bull. They’re packed with nutrients.’

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.

The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.

Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral lesson;

Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won’t keep you there.

  • One night four college students were out partying late night and didn’t study for the test which was scheduled for the next day. In the morning, they thought of a plan. They made themselves look dirty with grease and dirt. Then they went to the Dean and said they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their way back the tire of their car burst and they had to push the car all the way back. So they were in no condition to take the test.

The Dean thought for a minute and said they can have the re-test after 3 days. They thanked him and said they will be ready by that time.

On the third day, they appeared before the Dean. The Dean said that as this was a Special Condition Test, all four were required to sit in separate classrooms for the test. They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days.

The Test consisted of only 2 questions with the total of 100 Points.

Your Name __________ (1 Points)

Which tire burst? __________ (99 Points)
Options – (a) Front Left (b) Front Right (c) Back Left (d) Back Right

Fox; ‘Do you know the time, because my watch is broken’

Lion; ‘I can easily fix the watch for you.

Fox; ‘it’s a very complicated mechanism, and your big claws will only destroy it even more’.

Lion: ‘Oh no, give it to me, and it will be fixed.

Fox: ‘That’s ridiculous! Any fool knows that lazy lions with great claws cannot fix complicated.’

Lion: ‘Sure they do, give it to me and it will be fixed.

The lion disappears into his cave, and after a while he comes back with the watch which is running perfectly. The fox is impressed, and the lion continues to lie lazily in the sun, looking very pleased with himself.

Soon a wolf comes along and stops to watch the lazy lion in the sun the following conversation transpired.

Wolf; ‘Can I come and watch TV tonight with you, because mine is broken.’

Lion: ‘Oh, I can easily fix your TV for you.’

Wolf; ‘You don’t expect me to believe such rubbish, do you? There is no way that a lazy lion with big claws can fix a complicated TV’

Lion: ‘No problem. Do you want to try it?’

The lion goes into his cave, and after a while comes back with a perfectly fixed TV. The wolf goes away happily and amazed.

Inside the lion’s cave are half a dozen small and intelligent looking rabbits who are busily doing very complicated work with very detailed instruments. In the other corner lies a huge lion looking very pleased with himself.

BROKEN

Your potential is too high to waste.

I will make your future very bright.

You are too precious to suffer.

Allow me turn your life around.

I will make you see the beautiful side of this world.

You will be a queen and people will worship you.

His words seemed sincere and i trusted him.

That was four years ago.

Now waking up, my body hurts terribly.

This was not the life I was promised.

Where did all these scars come from?

All around me, were whips and cuffs scattered all over the room.

It was then I realized this was no dream at all.

It was all so real

The pieces started coming back in bits.

So many men, all so mean.

Sometimes, I plead and plead all to no avail.

Days have turned into weeks, weeks into months and months into years.

I had to do everything they ordered and do it well.

I did my best.

But the whip seemed to be a vital part of each day.

I trembled at the sound of his voice even if i had done nothing wrong.

I slaved all day but all that mattered was I looked attractive when they came.

He owned me and he did with me as he pleased.

I never dared to utter a word.

Feels like forever since I last smelled home.

The village life I once dreaded started to feel like paradise.

Get dressed bitch, don’t keep the customers waiting.

But I’m still sore from yesterday was always the thought on my mind.

This was a daily routine but somehow, I could never get used to it.

Each day I prayed to God to give me the courage to take my life.

The hope of returning home someday was fading away.

It was 10:00am.

My boss called out for me and I knew it was time to work.

I put on a short gown and hurried out.

He was old enough to be my grand father.

His hair was all grey, he had a pot belly and smelt like garlic.

But I had to keep smiling.

Without any reluctance, he threw me on the couch and started getting undressed.

He was through with me in 3 minutes but it felt like hours.

How can I ever get used to this?

Shortly after, there was a knock on the door.

Another customer again? I thought to myself.

He wanted a private session.

So I walked into the room and reluctantly started taking off my clothes.

But he asked me to stop.

He was not like any of them.

He had compassion in his eyes and he dint hurt me like they did.

He asked me a few questions and promised me that everything was going to be fine.

It was the first time anyone was nice to me in a very long time.

He came back every week for the next few months

Each time, he requested for a private session.

He paid his fees but only wanted to talk.

He brought me gifts and spoke kindly.

I couldn’t help but wonder what his hidden agenda could be.

I didn’t know men like that existed in this part of the world.

He made life a bit more bearable for me.

Hearing different voices coming from outside,

I rushed to see what was happening.

And there he was.

But this time, he was not alone.

There were 3 heavily built men with him.

To the corner was my boss.

The man who had literally made my life a living hell.

He was in cuffs but his face still looked strong and mean.

Confusion was written all over my face.

It’s time to go home. I heard a friendly voice say.

We have enough to put him away for a very long time.

And I will make sure he never hurts anyone again.

Tears rolled down my cheeks.

For I had wished for this day over and over but I never thought it will ever come.

Sadness then filled my heart.

I didn’t know how to go home.

How do I gather the pieces of my life?

I have nothing to live for anymore.

I am broken beyond repairs.

You never know until you try.

Growing up as a little girl, I always wondered,
If I jump, will I fly or will I fall?
If I bite my finger, will it tickle or will it hurt?
If I fall asleep will I dream of flowers or will I dream of monsters?
If I lick this sweet, will I ask for another or will I spit it out?
As I grow older I realize, you never know until you try.

You always wonder,
Will this dress make you look pretty or will it make you look shabby?
If you say hi, will you be smiled at or will you be shunned?
If you download this song, will you put it on replay or will you delete it?
If you go out with your friends, will you have a good time or will you have an awful time?

Whether you are 5 years old, 20 years old or even 50, you will always be faced with situations.
It might not be as easy as falling asleep or trying out a new dress.
Some might be life changing or threatening.
But you never know until you try.

Stepping into the unknown is never easy, Its scary
Because there is a chance you will get burned or crushed.
But no matter what happens,
Life goes on.

And even though you will have to live with the decisions you make,
Never let experiences break you.
They should make you stronger and believe it was just meant to happen that way.
Its better to try and get hurt than to wonder what if.

The proposal

It was the evening of her 25th birthday, the hall was beautifully decorated using red and white which were her favorite colors. Caterers and ushers were all in place, the guests had already arrived and everyone was having a good time. Heads turned as she walked in looking even more glamorous than usual in her long red dress. Her long black shiny hair looked as stunning as always. As she walked in, she was welcomed with lots of smiles from friends and family. She was confused because she thought she was having a simple dinner with her boyfriend. Even amidst her confusion, she still surrounded herself with an aura of confidence. She spotted her boyfriend from afar and the look on his face told her everything she needed to know. As they walked towards each other, the hall grew more quiet. “Happy birthday honey” he said as he embraced her and gave her a peck on her forehead. He told her how beautiful she looked and how much joy she had brought to his life. Not withstanding the fact that he was almost twice her age, he had grown very fond of her over the months. Before she had time to catch a breath, he went down on one knee and brought out a diamond ring from his pocket. The hall grew even more quiet than it already was as all the ladies both single and married awed in the background. He then said to her, “will you spend the rest of your life with me?” ….. The air became very tense because 10 seconds had gone by and there he was still on one knee. Everyone was staring while they all waited for a reply.

“Definitely not honey.” she replied after which she walked away. As those words came out of her mouth, he felt as though a spear was pierced into his heart, he felt as though ice ran through his body. He really didn’t see that coming. He was still trying to figure out what just happened as he felt everyone’s eyes melting his skin. He wished he could open the ground and enter, disappear or perhaps wake up from this nightmare. His knees grew very weak but somehow, he managed to get up and follow her. Embarrassed, heart broken and confused at the same time, he hurried up and caught up with her outside and he was able to make her stop. “what was that about?” He asked. She looked at him and said, “i’ve got a story I want to tell you.” “I’m in no mood for stories. What was that all about. I thought you said you loved me and wanted to be my wife. I was only trying to make it formal. What were all those talks about saving it for our wedding night all about?” he replied. She went on as though he had not spoken a word. Once upon a time, she started. There were two sisters who lost their parents in a car accident. They went through very hard times but life was easier because they had each other. When the elder one was 23, she met a young man who seemed to be desperately in love with her. He made her his wife and promised to make her the happiest girl on earth. After the ceremony, she moved into his house with her kid sister who was only 8 years old. Barely months into the marriage, he started abusing her physically. One afternoon, when she tried to get away, he beat her up, threw her down the stairs and left her lying down there unconscious. The little girl who watched the whole drama as she hid under a table ran to her sister and tried to wake her up as tears rolled down her cheeks but she wouldn’t wake up. She ran upstairs, got a phone and called an uncle for help. The good news is, she managed to survive even though she was severely wounded emotionally. She became an emotional wreck. This young child grew up to be this beautiful lady standing in front of you. Ashley? He screamed. She then said, “I never knew you will provide me with such a perfect scenario to dump your ass but here we are” It was then he realized that he had been living in a fools paradise. The girl he had desperately fallen in love with was just a girl earnestly seeking revenge for her sister. He looked at her and said, I’m truly sorry for the way I treated your sister. I have regretted it everyday of my life and if I were to turn back the hands of time, I would definitely do things differently. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she walked to her black Lexus he had bought her for valentine and drove off. As time went by, the guests dispersed as everyone talked about the event of the evening. There he was driving back home alone with his driver at the back of his limousine. This was not how he imagined the night would end. Staring out the window, he thought about all the sorts of things he had done in the past, all the beautiful moments he had shared with Ashley and all the time and money he had invested in her.

My lala land

Building a beautiful city of plastic bricks
Where everyone lives like kings and queens
No pain, no sadness.
Just love and happiness.
Only people with positive energies make it in.
No heart racing, no heart crushing and no mind wandering.

I look stunning in my beautiful dress, pretty hair.
Laughing so loud with beautiful people till I feel my ribs cracking.
Driving my cadillac, listening to loud beautiful music and singing along with happy people.
And I don’t have to worry about nothing.

Life’s perfect, don’t wanna know what anyone has to say.
Tired of trying to figure things out.
What to wear and what not to wear.
When to smile and when not to smile.
What to say, and what not to say.
What to do and what not to do.
How to feel and how not to feel.
How to fit into the real world.
I want a day when I can live in my lala land.

Story of my Life

”It should have been you not your mother” were the last words he said as he took his last breadth. I remember it as though it was yesterday. Sitting down on his hospital bed, staring into his weak and feeble eyes. The evening was cold, the sun had long set and darkness was already creeping in. I was only a 4 year old girl. I pondered over and over again what I ever did wrong. Whether it was my fault he had lost the love of his life while I was being born. Despair filled my heart as I looked into the eyes of the man who was supposed to be my father. All I could think about then were all the nights I cried because I was sent outside to sleep, all those times I was beaten mercilessly without having a clue of what I had done wrong. Aunty grace who was sitting down on the white plastic chair next to the bed stood up, carried me and put me on her laps. She then said to me, don’t worry child, everything is going to be all right. As I sat on her laps and listened to the words that came out of her mouth, for once in my life, I felt safe. I knew she meant every word she had said. I then remembered all those days she would sneak to bring me food, beg my dad on my behalf when I was sent to sleep outside. I knew I was supposed to be sad because I just lost my father but I felt peace like never before. As the years passed by, aunty grace kept her promise. I called her mummy because she was the mother I never had. She made me forget all about the hardship I had undergone during my early years. She worked many jobs to make sure we had food to eat and still have enough to pay my school fees. She did everything to make me happy because she loved me dearly. I remember one hot Sunday afternoon when I was 9 years old, she had gone out for her usual hustling while I slept at home. I woke up only to notice the whole room was smoky. I tried to find my way out of the house only to notice that I had been trapped inside by fire. I cried and cried but no one came to my rescue. After some time, I gave up because I was becoming weaker and weaker. I then heard my aunty screaming my name. she had come to my rescue. Joy filled my heart because for a minute, I thought I was going to die. She had rushed back home on hearing about the fire and despite efforts made by neighbors to prevent her from coming into the house, she had come for me. she wrapped a blanket around me and carried me. We both made it out alive but she sustained severe burns which we couldn’t afford to treat completely. She got fired from her various jobs, lost most of her friend and even her fiancé walked out on her. She had no choice but to engage in frying akara and some other petty tradings in order to make ends meet. She was able to send me through primary, secondary school and also the university. I graduated with a 2-1 after which I went for my one year law school program. I got a job in one of the biggest law firms earning 150,000 naira for a start. Life was beautiful. A true story of from grass to grace. As the months and years passed by, I made more and more money and was able to rub shoulders with all the biggest girls  in town. I built myself a duplex. I began to get carried away with all the money and fame. I began to call my aunty less and with time, I stopped calling all together. I changed my number so she was also unable to get to me. Despite how much I had wronged her, the love of a mother is immeasurable they say. She was able to trace me to Abuja. As she knocked on my gate, the gate keeper kept sending her away because she looked very tattered, she smelled horribly, her feet were all white from all the trekking, her belongings were in a GMG and she looked very unkempt. She insisted she was my mother and she wasn’t going anywhere until he let her see me. After severe persuasions, the gate keeper came and told me. When I went out, I saw this woman who had given away all her life just to make mine worth living. Tears filled her eyes as she said, my daughter, how are you? She looked a lot older than her age and even though I felt very ashamed of myself, I pushed her away when she came to hug me. How will I introduce this woman to my friends as my mother I thought to myself. I then turned to the gatekeeper and said, send this woman away because I do not know her. There she sat in front of my gate, not knowing where to go to. She had exhausted all her resources trying to find me, only to be denied. She couldn’t belief that the one thing in her life worth living for was gone.

Brainteaser

You are standing in front of 2 doors guarded by 2 knights. One of the doors leads to misfortune while the other leads to fortune. The one leading to misfortune is guarded by a knight who always tells lies while the one leading to fortune is guarded by the knight who always says the truth. What question can you ask these knights inorder to know which to go through?

Suppose there is only one saloon in your town, and it employs two saloonists. One of the saloonists has a nice, neatly hairdo. The other’s hair is a complete mess. Which of the two saloonists should you go to and why?
